Beyond the neighborhood's historical aspects and its distinguished 2.5mile Freedom trail that links sixteen nationally marked historical sites, the neighborhood also offers one of the city's most unique and stylish lifestyles. It is known to have over 100 restaurants with most being Italian. No wonder people travel across the border to the North End to have a taste of their meals. Also worthy of note are the neighborhood summer festivals and feasts. The Saint Anthony's feast was celebrated annually on the last Sunday in August to commemorate the patriarch's death in 1231. It is an Italian-originated regional feast that has spread throughout New England, keeping the cobblestone street lively with entertainment and Italian meals. Other great feasts of interest are the Fischer man's Feast and the St Agrippina di Mineo feast celebrated every August and June, respectively.

Though known for its Italian roots and heritage, the area can also be addressed as a diverse neighborhood because it has different people of different countries, beliefs, and professions enjoying the area's pure serenity. To reach the North End, simply head northeast from the West End neighborhood or straight north from Downtown.
