West End's proximity to the North End, Charles Esplanade,
Back Bay neighborhood and other historic areas made the area appealing to its locals and aspiring residents. The place is also known for its easy connection to the city's main routes and also to the North station, Boston's largest transport hub.
Though one of the most transient areas in Boston, the West End is still a mixture of races and ethnicity, with whites ranking over 60%, Hispanic 12%, and Blacks 6.7%, making the versatility of population in the area the oldest heritage of the neighborhood.
